SAVE OUR VILLAGE HALL
For some while now, in fact since Covid, when we lost several of our regular hirers, the Village Hall has struggled to remain viable. Therefore the Directors have made the decision to contact our remaining regular hirers, and residents of the parish, to discuss the future of the hall.
The Village Hall is now fifteen years old and, as with all buildings and equipment of that age, it is now requiring significant amounts of money to keep everything running, and up to date with current legislation.
The Play Area is also owned and maintained by the Village Hall. The future of the Play Area is also at risk as it has had to close temporarily due to failing safety checks. Therefore this, and all public facilities on land owned by the village hall are at risk of closure unless a rescue package can be sought.
To this end, the Parish Council are supporting us to explain the situation fully at the Annual Parish Meeting on Friday 8th May at 6pm, to which you are warmly invited, when there will be a presentation explaining the challenges we face. We will then invite the audience to come forward with their opinions as to whether they wish the hall to remain open and, providing this is positive, to then help work out a strategy to save the hall from closure which is a distinct risk if we do not take decisive action immediately.
