We recognise that the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults is paramount and that they have equal rights of protection. We all have a duty of care when they are in our charge and will do everything we can to provide a safe environment whilst they attend our activities.
Children under the age of eighteen attending public or private events in the village hall must be accompanied by a parent at all times. Unsupervised use of the children’s play area facilities is at the discretion of the parents.
Each user group involving children under the age of eighteen must either be accompanied by a parent, or a Deputy Child Protection Officer appointed to that group by the Lead Child Protection Officer plus one other responsible adult. Volunteers must have CRB clearance.
We will:
· treat all children and young people with respect and celebrate their achievements
· carefully recruit and select adults whether paid or unpaid
· respond to concerns and allegations appropriately
When there are concerns about the welfare of any child/young person, all adults in our organisation are expected to share those concerns with the Lead Child Protection Officer.
